This car was a collaborated effort between Motive and BrenTuning. Stu's car came to us twice before with bad results - once with a completely dead fuel pump, and the second time with a dry dipstick and had bearing rap. It was definitely time for a refresh of the motor so we helped Stu acquire all the best parts while on a moderate budget and using our favorite bolt on turbo - the HTA Green 8cm.

We were able to track down a few intercooler leaks pre-tune and found the intake it ran was not adequate so we had switched to an even bigger maf. After dialing in the injectors and part throttle and full throttle fuel the car really came alive. Above 22psi this car began to misfire and we found out from Motive that the plugs were gapped too large, so we capped boost below there. Above the 22psi range we found nearly 450whp (the same limit we found on the other HTA Green/built motor pump gas cars.) Stu will visit us again in the spring with a couple suggestions we noticed to turn up the wick some more. For those who went for a ride that day with Stu - as is this car moves!

those numbers seem high for a green. that's into gt30r power range. stock motor or built, and meth or no? most fp green cars ive seen the turbo is running out of breath at mid to high 300's

Meyagi you should know the answer to this question. ;)

The HTA Green is a 57lb/min turbo with a 3" inlet and 8cm housing, significantly bigger wheel then a 49lb Non HTA green that was 2.4" and 7cm housed. A 49lb NON HTA green running out of breath in the mid 300's still is not a good tune.

HTA green is about the best bolt on turbo for the money. It's rotated power in bolt on form. I tuned my first HTA Green in 07' - it made the same power as most basic 35R kits on pump back in that time frame. I've had them from 400-450whp with built motors on pump.

FWIW: a GT30R is 52/lb min and smaller then this turbo.

This car is a Built motor/cams, 93 pump gas

I missed the HTA part. that's a pretty good turbo for the money. it even outflows my 3076R, but with the S trim cover, the 30 has such an awesome sound its almost worth the power loss :)

what gains over sti cams do you usually see with those 272 cams? ive been thinking about them for my new motor setup.

No sweat, HTA Green should be called an Orange or something as it's not green sized!

You should hear the discountined HTA Green with Anti surge port compressor cover housing :o 18 wheeler sound.

272 cams see to hold power a bit higher up top, if you can lean on the car a bit with timing. We made on another car HTA Green cammed car (That was cooperating a bit better then this example above) peak power at 6500-7000rpm which is unheard of normally.
