I just got one, but Im waiting on a new cup for the gun. It wasnt in the box when i opened it.  AAARGH!!!  Just wondering if anyone here has one and what they think of it.  Im sure it will get some serious use as soon as the parts come in.

We have a hypertherm at work. They're all good when they're running. And much faster and easier than torch

Ive used plasma before, but this is a little one, with a built in compressor.  Parts should be here today.

i think the built in air compressor is piston driven, and it cuts up to about 1/4 in. steel.

Yeah, its rated for 1/4" at 3"/min.   It does a VERY good job. I sliced thru some thick tractor trailer aluminum intercooler piping, and it was like butter. It supposedly will do up to 1/16" aluminum, clean, but this stuff was thick, and it was a very clean cut. If you're in the market for something to do sheet metal, or even light frame work (Subaru undercarriges come to mind..)  I would highly recommend buying one of these.  Its not really as big as i needed, but it weighs 20 pounds, and only draws 12 amps.  You can lug it out in the driveway, and run a good extension cord, and it will work. no air lines to mess with....   Im going to do some more thickness testing, but I think it does better than they say...

I may be able to get a couple more for what I paid. $500 new in the box beats $859 all day... mine was a display model, and someone had stolen the cup off it, but I found them on ebay for $10 a piece. Ill check and see if I can get any more.
