Lifting and swaybars on my 97 2.5 GT

I am thinking of lifting my 97 legacy 2.5 gt. I already know how to do that part, which will give me about 3-4, give or take, in my suspension. Now I have read that when lifting people often remove the sway bars. How does this affect handling? wont this cause massive body roll? I was actually thinking of putting some thicker whiteline sway bars in it. Would I not be able to if I was to lift it?

As may be evident with my post I don't know suspensions that well.

If you want to keep the sways then get outback rear sway bar mounts and if you want to keep your drivetrain geometry the outback also has subframe spacers and a couple other diff. Piece to keep everything aligned properly

What will you be using for the lift? And I removed the rear sway on my lifted Forester. I noticed very little difference. You may have a hard time connecting your sway bars, but that's about it, and I'd probably use a good aftermarket endlink if you do go with a bigger sway bar after lifting it. Stock ones will not hold up, especially with bigger bars.

Thanks everyone!

Basically my plan would be to replace the legacy gt struts with outback ones giving me a bit of lift. Then I'd replace the springs or front with gen1 forester and the rear Springs with gen2 forester. I know this set up works and I already have the outback struts.

What other parts would I need? I have a 98 outback that I will be scraping/parting and would love to grab the parts if I can.

Both front and rear subframe spacers, rear trailing arms, sway bar brackets, tranny crossmember, the aluminum bushing on the front control arms, steering column and steering knuckle and the spacers that are on the T piece that's on the front rear diff. That mount near the trailering arm mount I am pretty sure that's it
