Car and Driver STI Article

Was just flipping through my July issue of Car and Driver and came upon a write up they did with an '04 WRB STI with gold wheels and an identical '15 STI. They were in Vermont so the title of it is "The Full Vermonte." Don't know when C&D goes to shelves for non subscribers but it was a nice little read / comparo between the two.

Saw that. Good story. Photo shoot was held at Team O'Neil facility, and def not enough sideways in the pics tho! Interesting performance comparos...the 04 STI was a beast. Faster, lighter, quicker than the 2015 car. BEt the 2015 is a lot more livable day to day and less rally-racer raw, tho! (plus, good F'n luck finding an 04 STI that's not rusted/beat/crashed/thrashed)

Yeah I agree, only one drifting photo per car? And I'd call the performance virtually identical, same 0-30, 0-60 time, same 1/4 mile ET with the 2015 1 MPH faster. Not bad considering the HP basically hasn't changed and the car has only gotten heavier. At least you can pick your own performance level with aftermarket parts, but anything less than 350 BHP from the factory seems inadequate these days for that type of car. I've always loved the STI, I remember when they first started showing up at tracks in the early 2000's it was cool to see a car in person that I had only seen in Gran Turismo. Of course I was driving and racing DSMs at the time so I was a bit annoyed that Subaru had beat Mitsu to the punch in bringing the STI vs EVO stateside.
