06 WRX fuel line leak

OK, I dont get online much at all anymore, but figured Id check in and see what anybody thinks.  The wife's 06 WRX has a fuel line leaking where it enters the interior, right under the DS rear seat. The leak is at the plastic clip, where the metal line goes in.  What is stopping me from adding a new end from a junk car, and splicing it in with hi pressure line, VS removing all 14 feet or so, and half the interior? I know nothing is really stopping me, but is this something that should be done right?  Thanks

OK, that's one more person saying that.  For a total of 2 of us that think it will work (including me). Now I just need to find one with that end in good shape, soon.   Her car is leaking a drip every 1.5 seconds when its running.  So its going to sit on the ramps til I find one, and my buddy with the good back climbs under there and cuts + splices it.   My days of laying under cars are done I think. Its been one thing after another with me, but the herniated disc is by far the worst.
