I just have to add this, because I had my first bad experience with service there-

I went in for an oil change and told them I had a slow leak in one tire, which I had been monitoring for about a month or two....the tire would lose 10psi in 2-3 days of driving. The tech does the oil change, and says he found no leak or puncture but tightened the valve stem, meaning the removable valve inside I guess, and it should be fine.He spent maybe 30-45 min on my car, including washing it and buffing out a scratch for me.I was in and out of service and would look in on my car,and I am almost certain he never even removed the wheel to check for a leak.I gave him the benefit of the doubt, and drove off.

I drive off and notice right away that the pressures are still off.I even had my digital gauge on the PASSENGER'S SEAT for crissakes!!! Could he not see that I was seriously checking it? He had pumped the one "leaking" tire up to spec, and left the others...which were off to begin with. The leak is still there, and now I have to make time to come back to have this one stupid little thing taken care of,because he was to lazy to just do it the first time.

the car is black. I swear
if you haven't already, check it yourself with the soapywater sprayer and find it yourself, mark it then have the specific leak fixed.

Well, all in all, I believe Patriot is more customer orientated than the other dealer services in the area. We're coming up on the 30K for the Darth Tader, I'll be doing some of that and Patriot will be doing the hard stuff ;D I could do it all, but I don't feel like it

I agree,Patriot overall is a pretty good dealership.I really have no problems with them. The tech that half-assed my car is getting the boot anyways.

I'll be the first to say I'm a FREAK about my car and REALLY hate scratches.

My only gripe ( and i'm sure you guys working there are probably laughing at this one)

THE DAMN DUDE THAT WASHES THE CARS!!!

Here's the story,

I first picked up the car without a rear spoiler on a bright sunny day and the paint looked just perfect. I then get a spoiler installed a couple days later and notice all these damn swirl marks (looks like spider webs) from a dirty rag or dirty shammy. I'm thinking wait a sec...I've never hand washed the car and I got swirl marks? WTF!

So I think no big deal Eric you can learn to buff the stuff out later and maybe do it this summer. So I still continued to use the touchless car washes and NEVER washed the car by hand.

Fast forward to winter time and I needed an oil change (no garage) so I took it there to have it done, they change the oil and hand wash it (wife forgot to tell them not to) and low and behold...TWICE AS MANY SWIRLS MARKS!!! I'm pissed but think come summer I can prob do a Porter Cable buffer and do a nice job on it so it's probably fine.

Finally the last time I brought it in they were told not to hand wash it and I guess decided to wash only the front quarter panel and half the door before someone told them to stop. By this time I was done and LIVID.

BUT this is where it turns around...

They apologized..picked up the car at my place of employment (sorry again tony! haha) drove the car back to Patriot and gave it a nice wax / buff job and then returned it to me. When they returned the car it looked fantastic! That's what I love about these guys, they always validate what you say and make you feel like VIP.

So it looks like we'll be doing an 06 Forester in the spring.

On a side note, I was bummed that the swirls returned after a couple washes but I kinda expected them to. I mean I knew they wouldn't take hours to buff the scratches out of the clear coat with a fine polish, and instead prob waxed it and then buffed the wax up. It's cool though because it did show me wax can hide a TON and the clear coat is kinda thin.

wHOA!!! I just picked up on this thread...

I have to take this personal, If I didn't I wouldn't be Patriot Subaru material.

First off, I have to say that I KNOW damn well that every person on this forum has screwed up at work once or twice.... you know why? because it's HUMAN NATURE..nobody is perfect Including you Rad :-X The difference between Patriot Subaru and any other dealer out there is that we will make it right!

We have a great group of technicians, FACTORY TRAINED, and they actually believe in and care about the cars they work on. None of them can help the fact that we have outgrown our 8 bay shop in just 18 months, I can't remember a time when the shop was not full. Thus the plans for the shop expansion. NO OTHER DEALER does nearly the amount of training for customer service and workmanship that Patriot Subaru does. (I spent 8 hours training just yesterday) And it's proven time and time again.

Rad, can you honestly say that every piece of luggage has ALWAYS made your flights???? Are you saying YOU OR YOUR TEAM HAS NEVER made a mistake????

As far as the recon dept, I think you'll find things have changed for the better too.. but understand what was said, things were fixed.. when there is a problem, Patriot Subaru will rectify it and make it right.

It is kinda funny though how people react to situations, one mistake and OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!! And others are like, thanks for fixing the problem, it's cool now..

Vinnie, we can talk about this in person when I come down to Patriot next week. I have another issue I need to take care of with the Legacy. I won't go any farther than that, pissing back and forth on forums has been done before and you know how that goes :

I'm a moderator and could delete it, but don't think that's necessary. My whole point is that when someone makes a mistake unless they kill someone, people in general need to be a little more understanding.

that's all- theres really nothing to discuss, I just ask you have a little respect for the main reason why this board exists.

If theres something else you feel you need or want to discuss, I'm here man.

Oh yeah, and I couldn't stand the obnoxiously obnoxious door greeter that was there on my first trip down. Damn, she was annoying. :

Man everytime I call him he's all over answering the phone... I will stick up for Patriot Subaru and say they have treated me ( and my car) with nothing but respect so far. Of course people screw up at work..I have to fix screw ups all day at work ( ever seen a $6000 cell phone bill? I just saw one last week becauce one of my reps forgot to add a discounted international dialing feature to an account). Of course, if the screw up EVERY time, then someone needs to go back there and clean house.
