Thanks to Pedro for the writeup:

How to check the amount of toe in/out on your car:

1: Aquire two sewing pins, The little ones with the colored heads work the best (visibility)

2: Aquire a carpenter's level (that is a little longer than the Radius of the tire/wheel combo)

3: Park on a flat area (garage is fine)

4: Place the level against the side of the wheel from the hub pointing towards the nose of the car

5: Stick Pin into tread (lightly) somewhere along this level line from the hub

6: Repeat on the other side of car

7: Use Tape measure to measure between the two pins (don't use the metal clip end, start at the 1" mark and continue to the other pin.

8: Record That measurement.

9: Roll car backwards so that the pins are now 180* from where they started (use level)

10: Measure again.

11: Subtract the smaller measurement from the larger (Larger in the rear=Toe in ; Larger in the front=Toe out)

12: Divide by two (this will give you the toe per side)

13: Compare to factory specs

are you gonna volunteer to do the write up on how to align your car with a bunch of string and a protractor too?

I can if you want, but it is a pain in the ass on a "car" I align my truck with an adaptation of the string method.
