So I just moved from the Bangor area down to Portland and hadn't got a chance to get a Mainely decal lol. Not sure when I got carded but it was last night after work some time haha. 2007 silver WRX, driving lights, black wheels, SCUBARU is my plate.
so I ended up going the cheapest route possible. LGT gears fro Flatironstuning.com and all new bearings, seals, and synchcros... total will be about $1800 not much else out there for that price. Used transmissions for 06-07 are going for like $2000-2500 with 150K on them!?
So I blew 3rd a while ago in my 07 WRX and just replaced it with a used one, now that one has sheered off #1 shift fork roll pin. I want to slightly build my trans up so I won't have to worry about it but on the cheap as I wasn't expecting the second trans to fail...I know that the factory gears...
The hard accel thing makes sense since I've been beating on it a little extra than normal... just going to start checking it every fuel up and like you said maybe some better oil next time...
Its a catch can and I just disconnected the hose of the pcv and hooked the can inline with it. I was told turbo subys didn't like synthetic so I've just used generic sae oil
thanks RyanR I'm definitaly going to keep checking it regularly I work at Mercedes in Bangor and i do roadside assistance so i drive my car about every other month. I just use the bulk 5W30 we have here instock, i think Winward petroleum brings it...not sure. I just recently installed an oil...
So my last oil change I went 3200 miles, time frame issues for the 200, I may have beat on my 07 Wrx a bit but I checked my oil at about 3000 miles and I was 3 QUARTS low! No oil in exhaust or leaking out of the engine... some oil in intercooler but could I have burned that much?
I just got mine done 07 wrx with 85,000 on it and it doesn't stay very clean and mine were fine... rust proofed and out the door I went in 30-45 mins.... might help that I work for Quirk at Mercedes tho....
