Could also be a lazy injector. Compression and leakdown tests should be performed before you spend time on anything else. May also be worth popping the timing belt covers off and checking to see if it's still timed. do not drive it or start it until you validate that timing is still ok.

haha! They are most likely coming out, we'll see. The car was minimally stripped before it left for a cage. Should have it back in the next few weeks.

I've never been pulled over in any of my wrx/sti over the years.  *knocks on wood*  There's no point in driving like an asshat on public roads.  (unless it's 1AM and snowing 3+"/hour)  Save your ticket money and go rallyx/autox/gokart/otherwiserace.

Also, I hope that STI wings stop migrating to WRX trunks.  Maybe Block being over at Ford will lure enough flat brimmys to the Focus/Fiesta that subarus will be saved! You don't have to be young to behave like a child

My biggest issue with the FRAM is the fiberglass mat filter.  They seem to fall apart, and glass is not something I'd want squeezing through bearings.  Can't really speak about them "filtering too well."  They also have the least surface area I've seen of any filter, and the smallest drain...
