05 Legacy 2.5i MisFire

So this is question regarding my mothers legacy, we recently just replaced the timing belt, and spark plugs. After we replaced the timing belt, the car developed a misfire in cylinder 4, we then proceed to replace the wires hoping that was the culprit. But it didn't change anything. My father thinks that the timing is off by 1 tooth and that is causing the misfire. So we are wondering if the timing being off by 1 tooth could cause a misfire in cylinder 4, or should we start looking at other possible causes.

Thanks,

it's possible, but that would also cause cylinder 2 to have similar symptoms. there should be timing marks on the belt, pull the timing belt cover off the front and verify that everyhting is lined up

Ok I'll let my dad know, I thought that it would cause issues with cylinder 2. Thanks Justin.
