Pinion bearing going in my 04WRX. If anyone knows where I can get a front end differential for cheap or used in decent condition please let me know, thanks!

Your best bet is to just buy a whole new transmission as the front diff is in the transmission. If the pinion bearing is bad then the chances of the whole transmission being bad is pretty good. Who told you that it was going bad?

The garage I took it too. Makes a humming noise towards the front end when I'm giving it gas in 4th and third. The garage told me its the front differential pinion bearing, and that I can ho a while before it gets worse but I want to fix it asap.

It will require opening the transmission and pulling the pinion gear off at least. It isn't quite as easy as a 4wd system where the diff and trans are seperate. I'm just not sure how they can say it is that bearing without opening the transmission.

Thanks Gabe but just sold that one though I have been thinking about 6 speed swapping mine lol
