One of my co-workers used to have an '00 Outback wagon. She bought 4 Pirelli studded snow tires, ran them for a winter, then sold the car. The size is 225/70?????/16. Will they fit on my car? I'm more concerned about rubbing and what not.

Oh yeah, she want's $200.

Somewhere there is a website that will give you an estimate of whether a tyre will fit based upon your stock tyre size. I think I've got it in My Favorites at home, and I'll post it up tonite. If not, I'll try to hunt it down again.

I went to tirerack.com, and looked up the slecs. For the Legacy, they measure 26.6" in diameter, and they have a section width of 9". The WRX RE92's measure 25.1" in diameter, and have a section width of 8.4". So, based on that, they are only about an inch and a half (1.40") taller, and five eighths (.6") wider. Would they rub?

Seth--

forget the outback upgrade, won't fit

go with 195/65-15 snows on stock suby 15" alloys or steelies

this works great, retaines stock tire diameter, doesn't affect your gearing

Leg OB 16" are too tall and fat for your early Imp. they might work for streeet driving, but not for what I think you want to do!

don't ask how I know :
