POS second car

Since my STi is as reliable as Wall Street I have basically been told I am in the market for a vehicle to get around in...

Took a serious look at Trevors Audi and a certain pretty Rex another member owns... For various reasons I got laughed at regarding both of them and told to "try again".. I think she thinks she will wear me out and go buy something new like that Lexus she wants....

I have been at kbb, car and all the other dawt coms looking around. Other than one 2 door RS (that I would destroy!) I found I am coming up blank... Since she is tyring to play me for a new car I think spending as little as possible is appropriate, keeping in mind I am not opposed to a few changes.

Any suggestions at something I can use as a "winter" car and get muddy in the summer? <---not like I live 15 minutes from Concord pond and other dirt roads! I could easily see myself having a super secret identity as a light weight "sandpeople".....

ps: Keep in mind I AM NOT allowed to bring another turbo charged vehicle on my property without serious side effects from the wife... All she has to do is go point at my "garage princess" STi with the potentially melted Deadbolt and there is nothing I can say.

I had to do the same thing. Im rocking a 1999 ford escort. Yea its pretty sweet.
baddass...Y dont U post pixx of that?

& I am feeling that Bratmans RS keeps me safe on all fronts... No toys so the wife wont get in it, manual tranny, NO TURBOCHARGER thus not endangering my home life and right up my all for what I want to spend once again assuring the wife won't get in it...

Yup possibly sometime this week, he will be taking a look at my car. I really don't want to get rid of it, but I would love to get out from under the payment so that my wife and I can afford to get a family vehicle, probably a Forester....Gabe, if yours was an auto, my wife would be all over it. I want a 5 spd, but she will be driving it more. But we will see if he likes it or not, it certainly won't hurt my feelings if he doesn't want it, but if he does.....I will be getting something else.

There you go!! This would be a great project and I have even more pointers on how to fix this!! Either way it won't hurt my feelings, I do love my RS!!
Y U gotta make this hard....ALL OF U....

turbo=divorce court if I am lucky

brat= ZERO chance of the wife EVER getting into it although there is a lot of temptation....

The RS is an awful pretty car and very unique in its own rights.. The 5 speed RS is almost as hard to locate as a Brat...unless of course UR a member of MS then they *** start *** falling out of the **** tree's....

A 5 speed RS is an easy find...Ive had 20+ or so... You said it yourself you are looking for reliability. Look for something stock well maintained and no rust, you will be golden! But these are used cars your talking about...no warranties unless you wanna pay..

my .02

cheers

No rust is the hard part here in Maine!! Mine is very solid but has started bubbling under the paint in the rear quarters. Mine is also, not stock, has a fair amount of aftermarket parts, but runs great!! Only real issue is the head gaskets leak alittle

Which one is that? your RS? As for rust..it harder in in the NE but it is possible.

RS's usually start to rust in the rear wheel wells :-(
