So why are there no 2013 LGT/OBXT for North America?

Anyone heard Subaru's rationale on this? Just curious why they would drop that model here and put out a new LGT wagon in the Japanese market.

 
It could be that the US fleet average gas mileage requirements are stricter than Japans, just an educated guess.
The 2.0 DIT they use in the JDM B4 LGT for 2013 averages 25 city. That's much better than the current gen STis. They claim it's 20% more efficient than the turbo 2.5 actually.

Did prior LGTs not sell well in the US?

 
The reason I'm so concerned is I would hate to see the US market miss out on this:

It has a twin-scroll version of the BRZ engine. 296HP 2.0 with a CVT transmission.

Front looks good but the side looks like a dropped/scrunched minivan

Hard to anything bad about those numbers

or the transplant possibilities
