So i got the wagon back, and everything seems to be hunky dory. At first i thought the clutch engagement was in a different spot in the travel of the pedal, but at this point i think it was my imagination. So all appears to be well for now.... Thanks to be everbody who chimed in with info...

i hear that......... and the serv manager said that all the stuff in the clutch assembly is only 3/36000 for the warrantee cause of the "wear and tear"

Thanks! I just found out that Subaru is going to cover the repair work even though its out of warrantee (sometimes it pays to do service thru the dealer!) My faith in the Scoobies is restored! Just hoping for no issues with the clutch assembly post repair.....
