    Dirt Drive Sept 29(official date)

I have a nice aluminum jack, but unfortunately I don't have it up here in Orono with me. I was thinking about running sweep, but it seems there's no interest from anyone to ride along. Threet3n if you want to ride with me and just cruise at the back of the group as a sweep mobile, we can carry...

Thanks, but I still don't want to break my car. I don't have any money or time to fix it. I'm going to school for engineering. Not for messing with cars. That's for summer and when I have a job making lots of money.

    Dirt Drive Sept 29(official date)

So I was debating going on the group drive or not. I don't have any place to work on my car, nor do I have any money to afford breaking it. So I think I'm going to go on the drive and take it easy at the back of the group. If someone at the back offs/breaks down etc. and can't make radio...

    98-08 Forester auto driveshaft

It took me about an hour. The tools I used were a file, BFH, punch, and the floor. Everything I read about the job made it sound a lot worse than it really was.

You can just replace the u-joints, it's a lot cheaper than buying a new drive shaft, and it's better than new because the joints are greasable. I did this repair on my GL's shaft and it really wasn't that hard.

EPOXY IS GOING TO BE MY FRIEND

Yea, and what happens when it doesn't work? That's a fairly large opening for JB weld to seal up. When it pops out you're gonna chooch the motor.

EPOXY IS GOING TO BE MY FRIEND

Put some heavy grease on the tap, go a turn, take it out. clean, re-grease, go a turn, etc. It's worth a try tapping and inserting a plug to that hole.

Pretty sure it was you I saw. I was in the kitchen making dinner looking out the window. You'd just gone across the bridge into downtown orono. Black wrx hatch thing with red wheels, right?

EPOXY IS GOING TO BE MY FRIEND

Tig welding that would be extremely difficult due to the oil soaked into the aluminum. You also stand the chance of dropping slag in the hole. Then it's done for.

EPOXY IS GOING TO BE MY FRIEND

Personally I wouldn't trust epoxy there. I'd tap some threads down that hole and just plug it off. There's another oil gallery port in the back of the block, just put a sensor in that one and re-route the wire.

If you're still looking for someone in the next week or two, and I either don't wanna drive my car, or can't find a co. I'll ride along. Speaking of which, is anyone not a goat and wants to ride with me?

    engine possibly blown

If sparks are shooting out of something, make that stop. Trying to further diagnose is useless when you have a known problem. Fix all the known problems, and move on from there. When I bought my car it ran raisin. Turns out it had a bad spark plug, a bad wire, jumped time 2 teeth (probably bad...

    what would you get ?

Get the thicker skid plate. Put the bolts in with anti-seize so they come out again, and spring washers so they don't fall out. Dropping it for an oil change every few months really isn't a big deal. If you have the 1/8" plate, hit something good and hard, and it dents in and breaks your oil...
