bleeding the clutch was probably the most useful thing to do. just a little air in system, and the clutch is very hard to use until you've pumped it up a few times (aka, warming up the car and driving a few miles). no doubt crappy fluid is a factor, but air in the system is the most likely...

triple check that intake mani gasket. we had a friggin nightmare trying to cure fuel injection probs on a 911 motor recently. went crazy checking injectors, sensors, vac lines,  and about 24 different connex. discovered a single nut caught under the intake mani, hidden by gasket. bad seal = fast...

your symptoms sure sound like vac problems. look closely for cracking around vac hose ends. a hose can look ok on the surface, but have cracking @ the ends where it slides over fittings, which can lead to all sorts of weird idling/running/backfiring issues. they're oftern intermittent, so you...

You'll probly need tires, too. Once they start wearing weird, thet's how they continue to wear, even after alignment is corrected. Maybe the tire shop can rotate the worn ones to minimize the issue, but still. If the tires are done, they're done.
