I didn't know you were doing a swap.  I wish I could help with the issue, but I don't know jack about Phase 1.  If it were phase 2 I'd be all over it.  Did you go through Numbchux for the harness? 

Ray is a legend.  He didnt do you wrong, he just does everything by the book including proper machine work etc.  3200 is quite a lot but considering everything involved it's not outrageous.  I'd trust Ray with my life, although I usually don't pay people to work on my cars so I don't know many...

Phase 2 is 99+ you dopes lol 8 bolt bellhousings, square valve covers etc etc.   There was some other change that occurred in 97, but it was still phase 1.  

Yeah I don't like the aftermarket ones though, too thin.. but I may go that route
