Ditto that. Support along the route was unreal. I think they kept hoping to see Patrick Dempsey. Suckers!
Actually, I would recommend this event to anyone getting into/ getting back into riding. Amgen really has their stuff together, and the variable distances (10/25/50/100mi) make the event...
When I finished, my first thought was that I could have done the century, but I was glad I didn't have to. I was pretty slow up some of those hills. Of course, I didn't train for it either....
I rode the 50. Perfect distance for doing it off the couch. I probably could have hung in for 6-7 hours to knock out the hundred, but it wouldn't have been pretty. Sorry to miss the Scooby guys!
I was looking for you up there Mike, but I staged off the back. I bet you were way up front.
Saw...
I'll be at the Dempsey as well- filling in for a buddy with a busted knee. He can't remember whether he signed up for the 50- or 100-miler. Guess we'll see!
See you up there!
Very cool!
There are some small park-ish sections scattered around. One out by the presumscot river (near hanaford at 26/100) and one off starbird lane near capisic. Neither is all that big, but pretty fun. I'm an XC guy, but always admired the tricks.
Hey technically proficient guys- will this DP fit my 05 LGT? I think it will, just making sure.
Erik- interested. Got all the gaskets, or will I need to order some?
Nice looking ride, and a screamin' deal. If you PM me a contact email, I'll post it on the Portland Rage MTB email as well. We're mostly XC, but it's worth a shot.
