yeah I "got rid" of my EGR when I boosted my 240 and didn't have any problems. It would probably be best to do it the "right way" though, unlike me...haha

240's have MAFs not MAP. Try cleaning or replacing the MAFs (I've got a stock one from a 97 KA if you need to borrow). What year is your 240?

oem is the way to go here. It's an M3 for pete's sake, the wheel probably had more R&D time into it than our whole cars. (exaggerated for effect) Nice car Nate, glad to see you finally in the car you've been lusting over for so long!
