so i'm picking up a forester 5 speed tomorrow, it has been sitting for a year, i slapped my battery in it and sure enough, it fired right up and drove itself right out of the back yard and even the headgaskets appear to be good with minimal body rot! one problem however, there are no brakes...

I have a 2000 ej25 out of a forester, was running but has a bent rod if you're willing to go that route. Not sure how to price it with 160k, I was thinking of rebuilding it as a spare/learning experience. I'm fairly certain the crank is fine.

I got a complete 5 speed, s model with the LSD and good clutch for $500, it came with a body and a motor with a bent rod too! May be better off finding a whole donor car.

+1 on Powerwheels, I know how to sync carbs but it's best taking it to a professional with accurate gauges. The balance issue may be wheel bearings, I've heard of them causing a wobbly feeling even on low mileage bikes. The wife even races a Suzuki 600.

i might just do that, the struts in my car are still handling fine, but it just feels like the rear end is disconnected, ball joints are still tight. what cheap mods can i do to help tidy up the handling at stock height?

ill look into that, right now im still getting all the quirks worked out, then buy a motorcycle, THEN i'll start looking at more mods i just noticed you do alignments in your profile, the strut bar i just installed really makes the tie rod on the drivers side noticeably sloppy.

ah so just the opposite of what i want. i also love the idea of a torque focused low boost super charger, the NA SOHC 2.5's are just gutless, but its not worth a full swap.

what kind of mods? i have a 00 S model and im looking to do some suspension mods so it does not handle like a minivan, but not looking to slam it.
