If it went away when you cleared the codes check your plugs and wires first, much cheaper and its normal maintenance anyways.

ask anyone who has ever one a clutch on a subaru, they will have one for you, i got 3 if you want one haha. 

no i agree with the 2.5 part. i took my time polishing the heads and block by hand, setting and cleaning everything perfectly, and of course, she still ticks like a grandfather clock...

his 97 is a US model, and imported the entire drive train and front sub frame from a jdm sti. I drove his 95 around for a week (with the 2.2 out of the 97) and i could definitely notice the creaking you speak of (of course the 200k miles has nothing to do with that...)

4 door, practicality in a fun sports car can't be beat. Also, I have the exact same drivetrain in my 00 forester, the LSD DOES make a difference when you get it sideways. The better maintenance records would win me over on the $400 difference, you're gonna spend way more than that fixing all the...

I just did my first subaru engine rebuild. 80 miles now and all engine diagnostics have been run and not a single check engine light. Started first attempt too!

I would actually trust a miata to make a cross country trip. And would have a blast the whole way. My friend Mike has A Chrysler seabring convertible in his car port right now, it has not moved in months. FOR A REASON! he will sell it to you real cheap tho ;-)

First gen miata. More people need to keep them maintained and on the road to keep them common even as they become classics. I will be looking at getting one in another year or so. Super simple to work on and an abundance of parts so high mileage is not that much of a concern. Just corrosion.

passed blmpkin on rt. 100 today while i had a back seat full of subaru parts

SOLD! got a rust free forester S 5 speed the original motor (timing belt but did not bend valves... wtf?) from the outback is going in this one.

he picked up the rear disc conversion already, just needs to be installed. but he now needs some front calipers to match it, we figured some 2 pot brakes would be adequate for the short term until the rest of the car has been finished (needs just a bit of body work haha)
