No, I made it in two pieces so that way if I wanted too I could take off the extension and just use the knob. I didn't have a M12x1.25 tap ether but a 1/2-20 tap works just as well.

I designed it that way. Not a big fan of short shift rods. I machined it out of stainless but I might want to change the knob to aluminum or maybe a black delrin.
