Hell I'd take a couple hundred rounds of decent 5.56 .45 auto

I've talked to that guy in Rangeley, best price I could find for a Windham Weaponry actually. But I've got a better price on a Spike's Tactical, be picking it up this weekend if all goes well. Also had some deliveries come in, which turned my 28" Mossberg 500: Into this: ATI Adjustable...

Same as a Windham + Tax, $900 . But this comes with 2 mags and sling, and the 1 in 7 twist instead of the 1 in 9. I'm going to go this route, I have a friend that this guy had built another for and if it was junk theres no way in hell the mutual friend would have bought it, he's extremely picky...

So for the price of a Windham Weaponry + tax he can build what sounds to me like a better gun. Ill quote what he told me. "Gun is new, has a brand new spikes tactical zombie lower receiver with a centurion parts kit best there is, green mountain barrel best there is and made in conway N.H. 1:7...

Been in contact with a friend of mine that had built many ARs and currently owns several full autos legally. Looks like we might build one now. The jury is still out.

I operate under the same principles, it's a lifetime purchase and I want quality not just cheap. I just want to make sure that $100 difference is for quality not for a name.

So assuming same features, DPMS or Windham Weaponry? I prefer buying local but the ~$100 difference makes me at least ask.

    The unofficial GUN talk thread

Yeah I noticed he was a dealer, but the prices are decent and included tax and he's fairly close to me. that's the only reason I haven't gone to Northeastern or G3, trying to save the $50. But if nothing comes up, gonna have to go that route. That Windham Weaponry is pretty much exactly what...

Any thoughts on the Bushmaster E2S A1 M4 AR-15? Or a DPMS Panther A3? Couple of them for sale in Uncle Henrys right now.

So from what Ive read ARs chambered for 5.56 will shoot .223 fine but it can be dangerous to go the other way around?
  14. MuddyWRX

    The unofficial GUN talk thread

Screw it, ARs in .223 have good resale if I don't like it. And if I need to take something bigger down I'll have either the 12 guage or the .30-06. Good out of the box sub $800 AR, any recommendations? Looks like any of the name brand ones should do fine.

Was talking to my brother last night, turns out I had shot his .223 last year. It was a remington r15 I believe? Shot well but I didn't really associate it with AR I thought it was just a plinking/coyote rifle. It was light and no recoil, but then again I had been shooting my .30-06 bolt that...

    The unofficial GUN talk thread

From everything I've heard/read an AR will run well... if well maintained, properly lubricated, and with good mags and ammo. It will also tend to be more accurate, there are more parts available, and is more "user friendly" as far as changing part out. But because of those 2 things it's very...

Tax return this year is going to hopefully go to an AK or AR. Im thinking AK for the heavier round and the lack of maintenance needed. I want a workhorse that will survive anything. Is there anything I should look for in a AK or anything in particular to avoid? Got my CCP too took less than 2...

Me and a co-worker made this last week. 230 Grain FMJ .45ACP ~25 feet away. Kept knocking it over, had planned to bury it in the snow. The snow was lacking.

    Ask a Tuner Thread!

OK so I have an OTS opensource tune. I took datalogs and worked with the tuner to go from roughly 230 whp to 300 whp according to virtual dyno. Is there anything to gain (power, safety, drivability) with a dyno or road tune in person?
