anyone know the story with Cobb ap1? as in, I have one from my brothers old wrx and I reverted it back to stock about 6 mo before he sold it, he gave me the ap and I was thinking maybe I could use it on the Forester... but I heard ap1 is model specific. Also does reverting back to stock...

lol you guys are funny... Inski, it was $2000, they are usually about $2400-2500, but this one was on display for over a year, and the shop owner wanted to get rid of it. You can get them from Serbu directly for 2150, but add 150 for the bipod, and a few hundred for handling and shipping...

The ammo? Off the shelf stuff can be $5 a round, surplus $2-3 a round, and if you reload, about $1.50 a round. I plan on reloading, so really it isn't much more expensive than 8mm or 30-06. edit: beat by Pedro

nice, we could do a small group shoot maybe? I really need to find a private range to light this thing off, most places frown on the .50, as it can travel well over a mile. But as long as there is a good back stop/burm, shouldn't be an issue.

If anyone has good camera skills, I would trade some trigger time behind the .50 for some good action photos

Almost done! Need to strip the lower and refinish it, as well as the barrel shroud. I used Krylon BBQ paint, works well, but it's a bit shiny. I might strip it and use something else. Going to shoot it tomorrow.

Ran into a snag. The receiver is twisted ever so slightly. It's my fault, as I checked it before welding and it was square. I might give it a quick twist to snap it back.. or might leave it alone. Not sure yet. The top cover was not sitting flush. After some messing around, I found it was...
