I read an article about a month ago that the subaru vesion was getting the name BRZ (Boxer Rear-wheel Z). and that the new engine is a departure from the EJ seiries except in one important way. they share the same bolt pattern. so any EJ engine will fit in the new BRZ car.

the piston dish is different between the two engines and if you put 251 heads on a D bock u have to run the D HG or you will run the pistons into the head as they rise above the block a bit.
