Nasiocs search sucks and I cant find any good info anywhere. Whats needed to pull the tranny? Can I get away with not pulling the axles off the spindle? Help me please.

What did you use as far as sanding? I mean did you sand it with sand paper in your hand? Its hard to put consistant pressure on the surface with doing it by hand. Using a block as long as possible will help you get the waves out of it. I havnt done much but Ive seen a lot done.

My bad pat i did write that wrong I meant the "bottom bolt hole" not the bottom bolt.

That would be the shitty way of doing it. There isn't much there for the tap to chase out. There isn't anything wrong with the bolt. Steel vs. aluminum, steel wins. Im trying to find a Time-sert brand thread repair now. Better design but pricey.

Im no engineer but why wouldnt they design it and make the caliper a "through hole" and make the steel threaded? Well at least Im not the only one. So how do others remedy it?

the last time the brakes were changed it looks like someone galled the threads in the bottom bolt hole of the front caliper.

trainable has my stock sti exhaust in freeport if you think you might want to bolt it on to pass. he might be using the catback tho. Which reminds me Im gonna need and inspection sticker in wisconsin soon and they sniff their cars. Lifes a grandma.
