    oOOooo! Lookie what I see!

jeez, yez can't get away with anything on de intArweb! that is indeed LDR's dear departed Tulip 1, now being run by Planet Motorsports out of Toronto. The rallyX was a shakedown for Galway Cavendish forest Rally on Aug 9. she will still be running the 2.5 NA (not to mention the smooshed hood...

    Lesser of two evils

hah! that's my point exactly. diff between the 2 is less about absolute performance, but MUCH more daily livability and long-term expectations that the thing will continue working once you've used up the payment book. OK so evo x has a few more bells n whistles that let unskilled drivers get...

    Lesser of two evils

STI no question. Evo is sexay, but Mitsu's long-term reliability record, expecially in transmissions, would scare me off of actual ownership. my problem is that STI would = no license in approx 4 days

    License Plate

OK, I give up! :pottytrain2: :angel12: my fave local vanity plate belongs to my dog's groomer. she's in her mid 40s & quite foxy, and the plates on her silver 350Z say...Z YAH online may be best way to get iffy combos. in person, the agents look things over pretty carefully. I wanted to...

    License Plate

evosuck and onall4s would probly not pass DMV straight-face test. individual DMV agents have latitude to accept or deny words and their associations and most of them go straight for the gutter meanings of things...you MIGHT get onall4s, but def not evosuck

hmmm...motorsports test facility in back yard...nice! one safety note: side window needs to be rolled up, no more than 1" open. this is std procedure for rally/rallyx, it keeps rocks and debris from coming in windows when you're flying sideways (dirt clods can pack a punch, even when you're...

    Pape subaru

so what (besides srvc mgr sporting a vette and not being a suby dood) ticked you off specifically? what was the service/work issue involved. when a dealer gets bought out in corporate shuffling, some good service service guys get pooshed out, other good guys somehow hang onto their jobs. the...

rear diff whine at 65 mph

so that sounds like one of those "just drive it til it sounds really worse" kind of things. Might be 10k miles , who knows?

    clutch adjustment rs

yowtch! that's an unusual failure...you haven't subjected your car to "enthusiastic driving" have you?! :angel12: That abuse voids ALL warranty.guarantee. stuff ya know. Rad and I pulled clutch MC and brake MC from his donor RS tonite....if'n perchance ya still need those particular bits.

    impreza headgaskets

just be double triple quattro sure when you put the new hg's in, that ALL the oil galleries line up. if not, when you start up your freshly rebuilt motor, there will be massive oil leaks. don't ax how I learnt this. :angry4: basically, the passenger side hg's are very directional...there's a...

    Hatch stuck!

have had the hatch on g/f's foz stick shut a few times. seems less of a latch plobrem and more of a "too much female crapola in the back, getting stuck in the hatch" kind of thing... :angel12:

rear diff whine at 65 mph

counterbalances added to rear diff carrier? hmmm, we removied something that sounds suspiciously similar form the diff subframe of our GC series rally cars...little weights that were surprisingly heavy. will have to peek at the WRX and see if those counterweights are present or not. pricey you...

rear diff whine at 65 mph

what are those parts supposed to do? is this a SoA approved solution, covered in a TSB or something?

    Head !@#$%^* Gaskets

if pooched HG allows extensive mixing of coolant with engine oil and is run for a while this way, bearing replacement is advised. otherwise, you pull the motor, take care and lavish on loving attention like Pedro mentions above....and then FARK!!! (^*&*%&$^&$^#@@!!! you spin a...

    It blows when things blow...

two things ya can count on in this world... #1, Entropy always wins (aka, if it CAN break, it will, eventually) #2, Friends are the only (if temporary) antidote to #1 above. Hang in there, things are fixable. Actually, um, if there was substantial mixing of coolant with the engine oil, this...

    The dumb things I do.

this doesn't have anything to to with clothing, but it's similar I got a new gearbox for the rally car, so excited to get it in...took off for a quick test drive...shifted great, nice close ratios, but... sheesh, it's kinda LOUD, innit? so back to the shop we went. huh, for some reason it was...
