I picked up some radios today. Cobra CXT175's. Read the reviews on the Walmart website first, and it looks like the only problem with these is the rechargeable batteries that come with it. So I am just using regular AAA batteries for it.

I had the same problem a while back. Only, the right one was on, the left one wasn't. I had no idea what was going on for a good 10 minutes, until I flicked that switch and found out that my left one was out.
