STi EJ257 short block going in!

I know my compression ratio stayed the same. The pistons are Cosworth stock size. Have Manley H beam rods which are stock stroke. I might have you look at it regardless once the breakin is done. I have heard you do some good work. Plus, the last tune I got was during the time my car was burning...

STi EJ257 short block going in!

By the way Bren why you are on this forum right now. Have you ever heard of a car when it is at cruise speed 70-75 mph that it surges? Like if I am on a flat spanse of ground then set the cruise anywhere from 70-75 mph I get like this surging effect. You can watch my boost gauge and it churns...

STi EJ257 short block going in!

By the way Bren I never said I didn't trust your road tune. I prefer road tunes to tell the truth. In the end a dyno number is just a number. How it performs on the street is the better animal. But, I just don't know about measuring the hp of a car based upon a device that doesn't look at the...

STi EJ257 short block going in!

I am glad it is running well for you man. I thought the early wrx's threw down more power than that at the wheel stock.

STi EJ257 short block going in!

I still don't trust this "road tune" whp/tq number. Now the tune done on the road is the way to go far as a good finsher. Most good tuners will use the dyno to get the car pretty much there. Then the road tune to make sure the car reacts the same on the road as it does on the dyno. I have been...

    goose honk

Honk Honk! LOL, sorry just had to get into character to get the full effect. I don't know man. This is wierd. Does it make the noise if you have no load on the engine? Like sitting still and give it gas?

    goose honk

sounds like a boost leak. I use to break my connection pipe that connects from the tmic to the TB all the time. Sounds like really loud rushing air when you press on the pedal. That and lots of power loss.

    2.5 "Normal" oil temps

10w-40 is really not that thick. Now running anything more would be crazy for the winter.

    2.5 "Normal" oil temps

I have been running synthetic oil in my car since like 1k miles on my OD. I bought the car new. The truth of the matter is that people experience something that goes wrong with there car. So right away they are like "Crap what did I do wrong?" "Was it something I put in the car?" Next thing...

    Ej20 fuel

Ask Lobstah what super does for a car. I filled his tank on his car for him the week we were working on my car. The vibrations and everything went away. That was just on a old Forrester. Gas plays a huge part in the way your car runs. Hell even in the rental cars I get I only put Premium fuel...

    2.5 "Normal" oil temps

Turbo. temps will range around the same regardless. Far as I know 180-220 is normal. The factory light is set to 248 F or so for it to come on. that's when oil really starts to cook. The higher quality oil you have the better it will resist the heat.
