Start with the thermostat. It's cheap and easy to replace. Then feel the radiator Hoses and see if there hot after the cars been running to see if the coolant is circulating. Maybe a partial plug somewhere like the heater core or a water pump getting weak? Someone might know better then I.

I've read also using STI rear end links upfront will put the bar where it needs to be when lifted with forester struts
