    Tire Pressure? ?(gravel tires)

Run them someplace around 30-33psi. A few psi difference front to back if you want. They are NOT winter tires-do not try them in the snow! Cheers! John

Sorry I didn't see this thread before. Yes Gear 300 is what I'd recommend in the STi's and WRX's. Cheers! John

10 hp? thats like a HP an hour!

I've learned that some days are better not to even touch anything mechanical. There are other days where you're already knee-deep in it and you have to finish it even if you're all thumbs. Way to get it done! :-) Cheers! John

    rear lateral links/rallycross prep

Whatever you pay will be money well spent! BTW, I'm no Subaru expert, but that rear lateral link doesn't quite look as straight as a stock one! ;-) Cheers! John

    rear lateral links/rallycross prep

Mike, sounds dumb, but they will either come out, or not. There's no in between with those things. They seize to the metal in the knuckle. Spary PB Blaster penetrating lubricant on them daily for a few days. Get the nut out. Then use an air hammer to try and hammer the bolt out. You cannot use...

    BOOM!

Chris, we've torn nearly all the teeth off third gear....twice! Of course, we were running nearly 24 pounds of boost one time and hit a rock while airborne in the top of third gear. Something had to give each time. Third gear is a weak point in the Subaru trannies. Plenty of vendors selling RA...

    ECU Q&A

Mike, there's an engine management forum over at http://www.nasioc.com Good stuff in there. Basically, there are two options, with tiers within each. 1.) Standalone ECU: Companies like Link, Motec, Autronic, Haltech, Electromotive, GEMS, Hydra Nemesis etc. These are often used by us rally...

    Headers???

Yeah, the full on exhaust systems from Scoobysport, Prodrive etc are wicked expensive. I think doing headers/up/downpipe and then a high flow muffler is the way to go. Cheers! John

    Headers???

We run headers on both the rally cars. I got the latest set cheap, but we've never dyno'd the car so I can't tell you if they helped us power wise! ;-) That said, when you see the stock headers vs. performance headers(especially the up-pipe), you realize that there has to be flow improvement in...

    Crank pullys

There are those that will say that replacing the crankshaft pulley is bad as there is a damper in the pulley. No aftermarket pulley(that I know of) has a damper. Some will say that a pulley without a damper will lead to premature engine failure. That said, the stock pulley is quite heavy. We...

    Crank pullys

I know that the crank pulley from a 1.8 will fit an RS and will fit a JDM WRX. So, I think all the engines used the same dimension pulley. We run with a Perrin lightweight pulley and have never had a problem. Cheers! John
