12v>110v power inverter - $25

connect to a 12v battery and run 110v household utilities. good for cars boats or camping.

you can hardwire it, use the battery clips (provided) or get a cigarette lighter attachment but you'll only be able to draw 10A through those before you blow your cars fuse.

i bought this for a project and it (amazingly) doesn't have enough power to do what i need it to.

This would make a Carputer project very easy... I can help with the 'puter part, as can many other people here, if anybody wants to do it.

it has a fan but its not very loud, you wouldnt be able to hear it with the car running. i believe it may vary in speed depending on your draw too, like my smaller one does. if that's the case then it would be very quiet at small loads.

I have one that has a horribly loud fan (audible when driving 85 on the highway...), that's why I was asking.

i just plugged in a 35 LED worklamp to it and the fan didnt even turn on (not very much load), so i can only imagine its a variable speed.

it says 1.5 watt brushless so should be very quiet.
