17 inch wheel size for 99 legacy gt with outback suspension?

Hi everyone,

I have a 99 legacy gt that i put the outback/sus suspension in.

I currently have a set of 215-55-16's on it but i'd like to put some 17s on it.

anyone have any suggestions as to what size works?

There's literally milimeters between the tire and strut, so it can't go any wider than what it is.

thoughts?

 
I run 17x8 on my rs with minimal rubbing up front on huge bumps and I'm lowered a good 2-3 inches

 
Personally, id keep 16"s. Tires are cheaper, itll look more off-roady, and youll have more sidewall so your not murdering your rims every mudhole.
