Yeah yeah, I know, not a Subaru, fwd, euro, all that.

But I know people are always looking for something cheap.

Anyway, my girlfriend is trading in her Jetta and barely getting anything for it. Basically we're getting her new car at such a low price there's really no wiggle room on her trade. So I figure before we dump it there we'd see if there was anyone who needed a cheap reliable car for a secondary vehicle or beater or something. You're not going to auto x this puppy, nor will you dump money for mods into it.

The Basics:

2002 VW Jetta GL

Silver on Black, 90k, Auto, 2.0 n/a

Leather, Heated seats, Sun roof, Power locks/windows, Cruise

1 owner, Girl driven which means a couple things: It has a couple dents here and there, but it was serviced on time, and had work done that probably wasn't necessary.

It's not awd, but throw some snows on it and it would make a very nice winter car, i loved how it drove in the snow.

The Bads:

Obviously it has some issues. None mechanically, but it does have a couple dents. There's one behind the driver's rear door and one on the rear quarter panel. The biggest issue is that she got backed into pretty hard by a guy in a parking lot and dented up her front drivers side fender and onto the bumper. You could probably pull those out and make it look acceptable, but it SHOULD have those pieces replaced if you don't want to know that happened. The radio does not work. Design flaw by VW allowed for me to put my iced coffee in the cupholder right above the radio, which happened to have a cassette adapter hanging out. Nature got the best of me and the coffee dripped for several hours onto the cassette, and into the head unit. Lame. Other than that, it has the VW "No bulb shall last more than 4 months" clause so there's a brake light out, and probably a running light somewhere.

Synopsis:

Solid reliable comfortable car that's a little rough around the edges.

Bottom line:

$1800

Here's the KBB link so I can save you the trouble:

Ah yes, Subaru did that for a few years. Good excuse to get myself an aftermarket boomer.

Excellent price for a newer VW Mark.
