ceramic-coated fuel rails, latest state-of-the-art engine controllers, stainless-steel exhaust systems, oversized drive plates and heat exchangers are just a few of the hi-tech items that Kiwi has incorporated to produce this high quality Subaru Marine Engine.

so its a painted up 2.5 n/a with standalone? for $10K? :icon_scratch:

i've got an sohc 2.5 block that needs bearings for $100. pair that with dohc 2.5 heads and a metal sti headgasket and you have 11.4:1 compression.

what makes a marine engine
Apparently $11k NZ

If you search the WoodenBoat magazine archives you

will find a series of articles describing conversion of

a GL engine for marine use but with some significant caveats

that I can't recall.

heh, ANYTHING to do with boats basically doubles the price.

bran new suby 2.5 motor runs roughly $5500, so a marinized one at $11k sounds about typical.

Truth.

Add the word "marine" to any washer or bolt and expect to pay a gazillion times more.

Turning a car engine into a durable marine engine is harder than it looks. Sounds easy but....
