Tonight I stared on the VERY time consuming task of sand blasting my rims. So after spending about one and a half hours cleaning just the top of one wheel and shooting an entire 40lb bag throgh the darn gun, I thought to my self... there has to be a better way. Has anybody found a faster way to strip the garbage off of their wheels?

you're better off than me. I'm using 320 grit. one wheel at a time stretched out over 2 afternoons. now to get to the other 3.....

i know maine metal coatings will sandblast and powdercoat for @50 a wheel

I don't even have the time to give my car a good waxing....you guys are WAY ahead of me.

one of the fella's on here made a unit out of a large storage tote to catch the sand, and he duct taped in a plexiglass window. hopefully he'll speak up or you can go back through some of the forums to find where he posted that he made it

I used to blast wheels for the VW guys and the old Subaru gang. VW wheel strip wicked easy, Subaru wheels not so easy. Better paint on them. Yeah, bring them somewhere with a sand blastin cabinet. It will save you tons of money on blastin sand and compressor air.
