downpipe install without tuner

can you install a downpipe with no cats on a car if you dont have a tuner. will it boost spike or will it be ok.

What do they spike up to? IMHO if its only spiking to 16-17 psi you're good. The system can hang with that for extended periods of time.

Well the fuel cut will kick in at 15.5 psi, but hitting the fuel cut sure isn't fun and the stock ecu settings really can't properly handle the engine loads that will probably arise from that much boost. I am sure there are people that are doing this with success, but it really would increase the chances of your engine detonating at higher loads and rpms which will substantially shorten it's lifespan.
