Dunlop Z1 Star Spec Street/Autcross tires-- Exhaust fabrication materials-Rally guys?

Hey everyone,

I've got a set of Dunlop Z1 Star specs (225/50/R16). They only have a couple thousand miles on them (I'd estimate close to 90% tread left). I bought the tires when I was autocrossing and tracking the car more frequently, but shortly after buying them I blew the transmission on the car and upgraded to a 6mt and added brembos at the same time. The factory wheels obviously don't clear the brembos, so I don't have any use for the tires anymore.

These are great performance street tires, autocross tires or track tires. They're $500+ new for a set.

I'd like to get $350 for these as they're in great shape, but I'm open to offers. Obviously with tires inspection is an important part of buying, so I'd prefer whoever buys these comes to check them out in person. I'm also willing to meet someone part way if you're outside the greater Portland area, but if I drive to meet you, I'd prefer you were very serious about buying them, as long as they're as described above.

I also have a 3inch high flow metallic substrate catalytic converter and 10 feet of carbon steel 3inch exhaust piping. This is good for exhaust fabrication work, especially for race exhausts meeting RA specifications (catted) or Redline Time Attack, etc. Essentially any series that requires the use of a catalytic converter.

Feel free to make an offer on the exhaust components, I don't recall what I paid for the piping off the top of my head, and the metallic substrate high flow cats (3inch) typically aren't particularly cheap. They do cost more than the ceramic substrate cats, but they don't crack/clog/fail when the car afterfires, or is running ignition cut launch control or anti-lag.

I also have an underbody chassis H-brace: asking $40

Shoot me a PM if you're interested in any of the parts

Since I'm new on the forum, I'd really prefer that these were in person transactions to eliminate and concerns of the buyer, and to protect what I hope will become a reasonable reputation on the forums

Thanks for looking!

Would you take $100 cash for the cat and piping? I'm presuming the cat is unused and not name brand/application specific.

H-brace should fit all GD chassis if I'm not mistaken. It was specifically purchased for an '02 sedan, but it should fit all GD model years and body styles.

As far as the cat and piping the cat is a universal piece for fabrication, it's not application specific. It doesn't have any provisions for an air pump or anything like that. That cat is indeed unused, new in box.

I'm not sure off the top of my head what brand the catalytic converter is, but again, it is metallic substrate, not ceramic so it's not one of the bargain basement cats that will frag on you the first time the car afterfires/you use antilag.

I was hoping to get a little more than that for the piping and cat, however money's tight for a few weeks until the new job starts, so if you pick it up from my place in Portland, or at the Thursday meet in Lewiston on the 9th I'll let it go for $100. If you want me to meet you part way some other time, I'd prefer to get more like $125. Let me know which you'd prefer.

Consider it sold. Let me send out a few messages and see what I can arrange for pick-up and I'll get back to you. Given that I'm in Mass, I'll probably have someone local to you pick them up from you and give you the cash and then I'll get it from them the next time I see them. I'm in no huge rush to lay my hands on them anyway, just planning ahead to future projects - like a Cosworth turbo housing and custom 3" exhaust for the XR4Ti.

Thanks...

Tim

Sounds good to me, i love those merkurs almost as much as subarus, so I'm glad the parts are destined for a good home!
