Interior- Gauge cluster/hvac/radio/clock bulb change

What size are the interior bulb sizes for the gauge cluster, HVAC, radio and clock? Looking to do orange like the STI interior. Also a link to where I can get the bulb covers or actual bulbs would be nice!

 
Do an LED conversion like mine. Chris did mine for me, but they are cheap, and if you can solder, you could do it yourself.

 
Ask Chris where he orders his. They come in strings of tape and you route them inside your cluster. I did the red like the STi, and it came out pretty good. And it matches my boost gauge and head unit,

 
You could just buy led bulbs. It comes out pretty good but sometimes you get "hot" spots. I think I bought some superbrightleds.com. I think there all 194 bulbs.

 
Yes it is wired right into the socket so that they work with the dimmer. You can get the bulbs like Matt said too, but they don't always show up the best due to the green lining on the back side of the cluster.

 
ive read that you can lightly sand the green paint off with 220 grit sandpaper to get rid of it.

that's what they were for mine, they may differ for the wrx, the hvac bulbs will be different.

 
On my Legacy I sanded the green off the back of the gauges with something like 80 grit. Having the back side scuffed up a bit actually helps with hot spots. Since it's rough, it helps diffuse the light more.

I got LED strips and stuck them facing inward, not toward the gauge, and my legacy has no hotspots.

The stock dimmer knob still works because subaru uses a PWM controller to change the brightness. That means it sends a square wave on/off signal really fast to the lights, this is actually the proper way to control LED brightness, so it works mint.

Here's a pic of mine. The more warning lights you have on, the more festive it is.

i ordered some red rubber light bulb covers from amazon, took off the blueish rubber covers that are currently on the 4 main dash lights and installed the red ones on those.

looks great!

My legacy gt is red, so i figured i'd go with a reddish ambient light in the instrument cluster.

I considered the led ones, but leds are a little too harsh for my eyes.
