im in need of four new tires, 225/45/17......im looking at the falken RT-615's. Any one ever run these? can you tell me what you think? is the tread life as horrible as what i've read?
well if u want sticky tires on nice sunny says that also make tons of road noise, skate around on wet roads like greaseballs, and wear out in a summer....knock yerself out. those Falkens are built to eke out a couple exxtra tenths on an autox course by trading off nearly everything else a driver needs tires to do the 99.975% of the time they're not dodging cones.
^ What he said. I have a set from last summers AX season. They are on the wear bars. Yes, I put them though more than the averager driver but on our big heavy cars they are not going to last at all. Fun and responsive, yes. Longevity, No. If you aren't autox-ing then they are a waste of money. And ya they are crap in the rain too.
I was looking at some General's that where getting good reviews and good wear.
I have some Fuzions (I think that they are a Firestone product) for the warm months. They work fine enough for me, they are pretty inexpensive and last a while.
