Winterforce FTW, they are cheap, widely available in many OEM sizes, and work really really well in the white stuff.
Nokians for the total win. IMO. But when I have to do it again, I will probably end up with STUDDED Winterforce. I have non-studded Winterforce on my truck. They're a great value.

Just my $.02 fwiw.

Good point on the studded tires, great of those who live off the beaten path.

I can see Kristof's point of view. I was thinking about putting my WRX up for the winter in favor of driving my old "modified" 97 Grand Am GT. It doesn't suck, but compared to the WRX, it comes close to sucking. If it was stock, GA = Sucky. But it has seen many winters already, and It already needs some rust repair and other repairs to get a sticker again. I don't think it will save me that many miles though, just driving to work and back for the past 6 months has given me 11,800 miles on my 09 WRX. It may save me the headaches of keeping the OBP paint clean. Then again I may just say F it and drive it anyway.

ive been using Gislaved Nordfrost's, ive run both studded and unstudded, and they are awesome!! General now offers the same tread pattern, its the altimax arctic, and as far as i can tell, the same tire.

ive gone off the road(my own fault) and ended up in a ditch buried up to the bumper, and been able to back the car out with no assistance....

i ran dunlap graspic ds2 digityres last year on my 300zx turbo... HANDS DOWN THE BEST WINTER RIG EVER! I did summit street in 1 foot of snow at a dead stop... my friends trailblazer with new allseasons in awd made it a 1/4 of the way up. OH AND I HAD 245 40 18's NO STUDS

ON a subbie they would own.
