New 1999 2.5RS

Hi everyone,

I just moved to the Portland Area from Sonoma, California with my girlfriend less than a week ago and picked up a 1999 2.5RS with an EJ257 shortblock for $3500. Haven't even registered it yet because I'm staying with a friend, but I would like to turbo the car, so I am looking at options for turbo kits, or possibly just full go Full EJ257. Also looking to throw in a nice rear LSD or maybe even weld the open diff in it. In California I was big into the drift scene and had an s13 240sx with sr20det swap I smashed around with for a while but sold when I moved. Once I find a permanent residence I'll have my track/summer car 2002 M3 shipped out here from California. I'll be sad having to garage it for the winter, but I would hate to have any rust on it, so I plan to just drive the subaru in the the winter. Here's a couple pics of the 2.5rs I picked up.

Infineon raceway was right next to where I used to live.

did you pick this up from a kid or his parents in scarborough? Previous owner went to my high school im 95% sure

 
Haha wow actually ya. I Picked up the car from Scarborough and apparently the kid got deployed and his dad needed to get rid of it because it was just sitting there. The father (I believe Greg was his name) works at Patriot Subaru. Really nice peeps

yup, zach, (greg's son) went to my school. didn't know him well enough to really check out the car, had no idea it had a 257 shortblock or gauges

It runs great and sounds great. It still has the stock head and I'm pretty sure it is still runing stock 2.5rs pistons or else compression would be very low and the car would be sluggish. Hopefully turbo soon though!
