On your first point,I have NO idea what your talking about:eek: secondly; We looked into the ginseng thing.grows well in acidic soil and diffused light[like inter planted in a pine tree grove]Had to order almost a year in advance through "Jonnys " seed company, then come to find out they had crop failure a few years in a row.The stuff is real expensive to buy and takes a long time to grow to harvest, like 3 years.Good luck:)No "vinca" at this time, ill be potting some up in the fall if your still interested then:rolleyes:.Try "o'donalds" if you need it now.

tyvm...

I got all my seeds from Jonnys this year by luck. The prior owner of this home owns a nursery in town and I got a fat catalog mid-winter and ordered all sorts of stuff.

I asked about the ginseng because I think I may have an ideal enviroment for it where I live and think it would be interesting to try although expensive.

Yes Inski, ive got a few lilacs.native;purpleish color 15-25$ depending on size at time of sale.Have 1 lg Russian lilac[for focal point of garden]..As for your non blooming lilacs:confused: have you cut the flowers back after the bloom? do you fertilize? At all??Did they come with the home or did YOU plant them?:rolleyes:Hope this info helps:cool: Wzrd

will do on the Ginsing thang...

Lillacs huh? I just butchered a row of them about 18 feet long and close to ten feet high... they were in the way of house painting...

Lilacs came with the house. Never fertilized, maybe once or twice years ago without results. they are slowly spreading, but no flowers.

Also, I'm trying to grow wild roses. Same thing, they are slowly spreading but haven't flowered. I got those from Downeast where they grow uncontrollably every where. My mother-in-law has to cut the bushes back a ton every year. My roses from the same bush barely sprout 2-3 new sprouts a summer. However my Home Depot vine roses are doing ok, slightly different spot, but i'd rather have a wild shrub with waaaaay more action going on. We were using the roses for security reasons but never could get a full enough bush going before ice or something would kill it off.

Low drooping Junipers in the same spot went crazy. They didn't even want to droop after two years. I think the wife would prefer a flowering something to junipers.

How much for an at home consultation?
