Trooper Jamo received a third party report of a crashed and unoccupied vehicle on the dead end portion of the old Rt. 26 in New Gloucester. Upon arrival, Tr. Jamo learned that someone had crashed a white Subaru Forrester through the wooden barricade after accelerating down the dead end road. Tr. Jamo towed and placed a hold on the vehicle pending contact with the driver. As expected, the 47 year old registered owner called around 1400 hours the next day to report the vehicle stolen. After Tr. Jamo met with the subject and listened to numerous comical inconsistencies with his story, the male finally admitted to driving and crashing the vehicle after leaving the Eagle’s Nest bar in New Gloucester. Tr. Jamo cited the male for leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Crash & Failure to Report Accident by Quickest Means. The male has previous OUI history and is Conditional “Q” until 2021
Also, vehicle make not mentioned, but, one I thought was funny.
Trooper Cote was traveling southbound on the turnpike in Auburn when a vehicle passed him at 97 M.P.H. in the posted 65 M.P.H. zone. He stopped it and summonsed the adult male operator for Criminal Speed. He told Trooper Cote that he had been in a hurry because he was late for traffic court in Portland as a result of previous speeding ticket.
