I just rotated my tires on my 08 impreza and the TPMS warning light is on. Anyone know where I can have it reset with out paying through the butt?

i had the same problem with my 08 when i got new tires i shut the engine off with the ke still at "on" then cheaked my tire preasures then started it back up and drove about 5 miles and the light turned off.. was it on or blinking??

blinks at first but stays on after.

I assume its low tire pressure but all the tires are 3 lbs over.

The sensors need to be reset due to swaping them to new corners. The dealer will do it.

Take it to Evergreen for an oil change or something else. They might be able to "take care" of it for you. Its quick, hook-up the computer and run a little handheld device around to each wheel.

good call

On my 08 Forester I can rotate the tires and not have to reset the TPMS. I don't believe the cars are set up to know which tire just that a tire is out of pressure spec. At least on my 08

Black tape!

yeah my light is on but i think my tires are actually low due to the cold weather
Mine will come on when I come back down from Track pressure to daily driver pressure then go out after driving for awhile. I've never had it come on when I rotate the tires.

Have you thought about putting some air in the tires?

The dealer can assign a location to each tire via the computer and goofy wand, but as long as each tire is up to stuff it doesn't matter where you put them.
In other words your LF was assigned as #1 at some point..registered to the TPMS system. If that tire gets a puncture it will lite the TPMS and the code will say "tire#1 decreased pressure" even if that tire is now on the back or in the trunk. If for some reason tire #1 is removed and left in the garage the computer will set a code TPMS lite will come on and the computer will say "tire #1 not registered" meaning its not getting the signal.

If you leave all the wheels with the TPMS sensors in your garage (lets say because winter is here and you just had the winter wheels put on) Your TPMS will be on and the codes will be Tire #1,2,,3,4 not registered.
