Tranny Issues...

New member with my first Subaru, I have a bunch of questions.

99 obs automatic, This car has been sitting for a year totaled at my work. needed a nose. I have it on the road and trying to work out some of the bugs.

First, tranny is slipping going into gear. I have noticed in some stuff online that Subraus are fussy when it comes to tranny fluid. I did check the fluid, clean, and full. (looks fresh)

Second, when I put my foot in the gas, when it down shifts it bangs pretty hard. Almost seems to be in rt rear.

Any help would be great,

Thanks

How many miles?? There is a chance that the rear transfer clutches are getting tired. That's common in the autos. But they are fairly easy to replace.

Yes, In Subarus, everything is in the tranny. The adjustment is most likely under the car, on the side of the tranny.

4EAT shifter adjustment is at bottom of shift lever, reach it from under car. you'll see how the adj nut and locknut work. place shifter in P to make adj. make sure shift lever on trans is all the way to rear of car, and that shift indicator in cockpit is in P.
