Up Pipe Resistor Fix

Today i installed my GS catless up pipe and was wondering how exactly i do the cel fix. I know you need a 2.2k kohms 1/2 watt resistor(picked 5 up at radio shack for like $1.20) and you stick it in the plug for the EGT, but these resistors look like wires with a gold and red pattern on them. Do i need to do anything thing funky with them or is that as straight forward as it sounds?

the different colors represent the value of resistance and the tolerance. Nothing special. The gold/brown "Bulb" is the resistor.

So do I just stick it into where the EGT plug would go?

Yes, it is as simple as that.

I covered my plug with electrical tape to keep it clean.

Zach, bend each wire into a "u" before you put it in that way it stays in better, then definetly tape it
