Meyagi I'm a hack Jul 25, 2012 #6 the shims are under the lifter buckets, cams have to come out, meaning the motor has to come out. if its not ticking like crazy, leave it alone.

Nigel Prodrive Dirt surfer Nov 17, 2012 #8 If valves ticking loud on startup, poke the Lucas Oil Treatment to it. Half a quart anyway. Makes oil super clingy. ReAlly quiets things down. Put Lucas on yer burgers too, chicks dig it!
