I just got snow tires for my girlfriend for her 05 VW golf.
the guy seeling them said the wheels came off a 99 passat.
the sizes of tires matched and they were both 5 bolt, so i figured that they would fit
WRONG. Different spacing....
So...
DID VW CHANGE THEIR BOLT PATTERN IN THE PAST FEW YEARS!?!?
I am hoping the guy will take em back but i guess i will find out soon enough.

let me know if they did not. Then i can give this guy hell for B.S. ing that they were on a VW...and saying they would fit.
I can see it being an honest mistake though.
UPDATE Passat wheels share the same hub size as Audi's FYI, The guy took back the wheels.Too bad i just spent all day today driiving back and forth.Know i know and hope fully someone can learn from my misfortune...
